This kiddo is going to challenge my parenting until the end of time... I JUST KNOW IT! He is the polar opposite from his biggest brother, and the things that drive me the craziest about him, I love the most. He is just like his daddy in so many ways which can be both good and bad. Spelling is going to be the death of us. This week one of his words was pencil. He will miss it on his test tomorrow, but it is not because we did not go over it. We tried... we were both in tears at one point. He spelled it for me no less than 30 times tonight. He wrote it about 15 times, he still does not know how to spell pencil. I will ask him in the morning how to spell pencil... he will tell me... P I N S E L, and I will grit my teeth and send him to school knowing that if going over the word for 7 days and working on it as hard as we did last night did not teach him the word pencil, it is just not meant to be.

A piece of his homework was to go for a walk and take a picture with some fall leaves. That we can do (as long as we do not have to take a pincel with us)! His eyes mesmerize me, I can stare at his sweet nose all day long. HE broke the mold when HE made this one. I LOVE this boy!!!

Veteran's Day Parade

Silas, Eliza, Cruz and I packed up and headed to Franklin to meet up with Daddy to watch the Veteran's Day Parade. Our very own Papa is a Veteran of the Vietnam War and walked in the parade with our nephew, Avery, and his school. We are so thankful to our Papa for his service to our country, and proud to call him our own.

I got a few shots of the kids before the parade started. Silas was in a foreshadowing kind of mood where he acted like a moody teenager with his hood up, not wanting his picture taken. Eliza was all about posing.

I thought the fact that we "parked" ourselves right beside a NO PARKING sign was funny.

This is my "Papa in the parade" shot. I did not see him coming because I did not know he would be in a sea of 4th graders. I tried to catch a quick shot, but instead it looks like he might be in the witness protection program, and I guess Avery just disappeared from the shot because he was right beside him when I took the picture?

Christmas in July November

Since I got rid of all my baby stuff just 3 weeks before I found out our little man was on his way, I was without a fun "exersaucer". Nommie came to the rescue and gave him his Christmas present a little early since he won't know the difference. Now he gets to enjoy it longer. He is thankful to be upright, and I am thankful for the few mintues it can give me to get something done.
Note the standard issue Jones thighs!!!

Hungry for some bacon...

But I guess Happy Bellies Rice Cereal will do. (THANKS HH)

I typically wait until right at 6 months to start cereal. Mostly because my kiddos don't need the added calories, but he was in need of something more. He hearts cereal and had no trouble with this new milestone.

The day in which my kids feel most comfortable

Halloween, the one day a year where it is okay to wear whatever you want and not one person will think you are crazy. We spend so much time in dress up clothes in this house that my kids don't understand why we cannot go out in public on a daily basis as Batman, Superman, Hulk, Knights... you name it. When we do go out in public in normal clothes, my kids come straight home and strip down to underwear or go put on a costume. (All of this excludes Baylor of course). Callan and Silas could spend all day changing costumes because our stash is so big. They also see Halloween as a great day to add to their collection. This year, it was time to add some G.I. Joe. I give you Storm Shadow, and Snake Eyes.

Now, I can honestly tell you that I did not see this one coming. We let Eliza flip through the costume magazine that came in the mail. I just knew she would want to be a Princess, because we talk about them all the time and she notices them everywhere we go. But when we showed her the costumes she said NO and flipped to the superhero page. She originally picked Spiderman, but the boys convinced her to be Batgirl. Yes she loved the mask... she did not take it off all night long. I guess Batgirl is what you want to be when that is what you know... and when you have all brothers, you KNOW Batman! Momma took only girl privileges and "froo-frooed" it up by making batgirl a tu-tu.

Sweet Baylor! He is like his momma. When you find what you like, you stick with it. He chose to be a baseball player this year (like last year... and the year before). One would think that when you have to "dress up" this way a couple times a week you would want something different for this special occasion. NOPE! (He is however quite the deal maker, and convinced us to purchase him a new book since he wasn't costing us in the costume department)

Finally, my little CHUNKY MONKEY! He weighed in last week at his 4 month Dr. visit at 17 pounds. Still a lightweight by his oldest brothers standards, but still an arm workout for momma too !

This is how he felt about the Fall Festival. Several people thought he was a stuffed animal and part of MY costume!!??

The whole crew.

WIG-O-RAMA

Only the Morgan's would have a "Tacky-Wacky Wig-o-rama". We had so much fun going to our friends house and enjoying the festivities. As soon as Sonja gets all her pics up on her blog I will share the link. I took my camera, but was so busy enjoying adult time, I did not take any pictures (except for the token pic Nommie took before we left the house).

I always thought I might enjoy being a blonde. I discovered, it is just not me. I do not fare well as a blonde. But I can hold my own at Guestures.
