Silas- Fall Ball Ends

It was a great season for Silas. He played a lot of infield and (in his words) hit a lot of doubles.

Baylor- Fall Ball

I did not get to take many pictures of Baylor playing Fall Ball this season, mostly because I was usually with the other ball playing boys when he was playing or it was Sunday afternoon nap time for the little ones. They played in a great tournament in Southaven Mississippi where they started off "stinkin it up" only to work their way back up to the top. In the championship game they were up by 3 in the final inning. The other team was up to bat with 2 outs. The other team hit a "shot" out to right field and even though our right fielder did everything in his power (diving after the ball) to get to it, it was just a good hit. They scored 4 runs and won the game 8 to 7. It made for a long ride home, but I am very proud of the way they battled back to be the second runner-up.

Baylor also got to try his hand at a little pitching this fall. He loves it!

Cruz

I love this little baseball head, and am thankful that he enjoys running in circles at the field. Of course Mommy never gets to sit down, but at least he loves being outside.

Eliza also does very well at the baseball field, but she was too busy collecting grandaddy longlegs for the scared bigger girls that I did not get any photos of her.

Callan- Fall Ball Ends

Callan had a good season too. He spent most of the games playing catcher and is really learning to get behind the ball. Adjusting to that machine is hard, but I think he has finally got the hang of it.

Favorite Foto Friday

Isn't it just TUTU cute?

... I just had to laugh. Sissy gets up from her photo session and little man thinks it is his turn. He cracks me up without words, I cannot imagine what his personality is going to be like when he starts talking.

Wordless Wednesday!

Pumpkin Fun

Callan could not take it any longer... he has seen too many pumpkins around the neighborhood. If he asked one time he asked five thousand and one times if we could carve our pumpkins. I told him we would not until a few days before Halloween because they would rot on the porch. I hit my limit... I caved... we carved.

All hands IN!

Cruz was not afraid of pumpkin guts!
This was the "Okay... everyone look at me and smile" photo. 1 for 4 obedience... not so hot, and the chance that Cruz looking with a smiling expression was pure luck is quite high... even a fluke.
Baylor was late to the game, finishing up some homework. So he got some alone time with the pumpkin. =)
Our finished product... an owl sitting on a branch, and 3 ghost.
It shall also be noted that it has not even been a week and the pumpkins are ROTTEN through and through on our front porch... but I am saving them for the penicillin I am sure to be creating with all that red and green mold.

Baylor-

For the first grading peroid at school Baylor received an award. We did not know what award it was until we arrived at school for the assembly. Baylor was recognized for "Leading the Way to Our Future" by his teachers. I am very proud of him and could not have picked a better award for him. When he was 3 and I started the process of holding him back in school (because of an August birthday) my biggest fear was that he would be this BIG bully (do you remember what he looked like as a toddler?). I am so thankful that he uses his leadership in a positive way, I just know it is going to take him so far in life. His peers seem to really look up to him both for direction and for friendship. My prayer is that he will always be a leader and never a follower, that he would charge his own paths and make decisions for himself based on what he knows is right and what he wants to do... not what others are telling him or what others are doing. Baylor, I am so proud of you!

The fun part of the assembly is the relay race they get to participate in. There is no winner... it is just the fun part of being recognized. It is more than just having your named called and walking down to get a certificate. THEY LOVE IT!

The Letter Ff

This is harder to keep up with than I thought. We should be on letter Gg... but there was too much GoldFISH fun to do (and F is a hard sound) so we are sticking with it this week too.

Also... you must go to STARFALL and play. Eliza LOVES it. Silas brought it home from school... Do the ABC's and keep clicking though the letters. It does sounds and activities to identify upper and lower case. Also helps with mouse dexterity and motor skills =)

Pumpkin Patch

Silas' Kindergarten class went to Gentry's Farm on Friday. We always love Gentry's Farm. The kids had a blast! Silas was coming off of 6 days of fever so he hung tight with momma which was fine by me. After spending a week with him and then getting to go on the Field Trip with him, I realized how bad I miss him at home.

Here he is with his crew of boys.

My sweet pumpkin

A little pumpkin hunting love

Sadly it was after the pumpkin patch that this little boy took another down turn and started up with the fever again. After going to a walk-in on Saturday and some poking prodding, x-rays, and more we discovered that his virus had "setteled" in to walking pneumonia. A few days of antibiotics and we are good as new (and thankful that is was not possible appendicitis).
