Lollipop

Well, no more counting down the days until our next "lollipop" game. Silas had his last game last Friday night. He was so excited knowing that at the end the shiny trophy would come. I love watching him play... he loves it!

3 words...

MAS-TI-TIS...

okay so it is only one word, but it should be 3. Not feeling so well, hope to return to normal soon. That is what I get for thinking that life just resumes as normal with a 4 week old in tow. I guess it is my lesson to slow down a little.

Excuses... Excuses...

I am so far behind, I do not know where to begin to catch up. We had a fun filled (tiring), Jesus learning (tiring), praise singing (tiring), craft making (tiring), superhero fighting (tiring) week at VBS. All kidding aside... it was super fun and even with 4 week old in tow we had a GREAT week.

Soon I will tell you all about our adventures this week, and when I get the brain cells I will tell you how much I love my hubby of 11 years TODAY. Who sadly, is at the ball park right now while I am home, but we do have a date planned for tonight if we can stay awake =).

Baseball Bay Boy

We have played baseball FOR-EV-VAH this season. All three boys have played, and really we have had a blast. Baylor's team is still going with a few summer tournaments. I wish everyone could see him (and his team) play. I cannot believe how well they play at such a young age. The rules they have to learn and know at split second decision time. I think that Baylor has grown so much as a player this year. Not only has he learned more about the fine details of the game, but his arm has gotten stronger, his bat has gotten quicker, and as a player he has really improved. I am so proud of him and hope that things continue to go well for this little boy who LOVES baseball.
At the plate... against some young boys who can throw some serious heat.

At second base.

Favorite Fotos Friday- 3 weeks

Eliza wanted her pic with "Truze" and to avoid worrying about her holding him, dropping him or him being uncomfortably wrangled, I opted to have her lay down with him beside her. Then the boys wanted to have their pics taken... they followed baby sister all on their own.

Who could ask for anything more?

Well, it is almost over... my birthday that is.

Today, was my *ahem* 29th birthday... again! But then again, with a day like today, who could ask for a better birthday? My mom met us at the movies to see Ice Age, she came home with us and brought me a homemade strawberry cake, and she kept the kids so Brent and I could go out to dinner (we did take Cruz). Friends brought cards and gifts, Facebook opened a whole new birthday world and it seems like 1000's of people told me Happy Birthday (my e-mail was full all day long from it). My hubby took me out to eat and then sat in the car holding Cruz so I could go buy a few things with my birthday money to get me by until this pregnancy weight goes away, and he brought me home an IvyCake cupcake.

I feel blessed! And these right here... my biggest blessings! Who knew that by age *ahem* 29 I would have 5 children to keep me on my toes, make my days worth living, and make my hair turn gray way too early??!!

Doctor visit

Today Cruz and I headed out for his 2 week doctor visit. He is back up (and a little past) his birth weight at 9 lbs. 11 oz and doing good overall. Just as I suspected, Cruz (like his brother, Callan) has a mild hypospadias. I won't go into deep detail about it but basically his little pee pee hole did not form 100% correctly and looks like it is "splayed open" a little bit. My doctor recommended following up with a urologist at 6 months old, but thought that he might not even want to repair it. Callan had surgery for it at 9 months of age and then back a 2 years of age for a hernia (which I now wonder if they might be connected and will have them check on Cruz). She also said he does have a small umbilical hernia that should heal itself... and now looking back at pictures, I wonder if Callan had that as well and it healed before the doctor ever caught it.

It kind of baffels me that Cruz would have a repeat of Callan's issues... and look just like Silas did. I have begun to pray now that these are the only issues that Cruz gets that mirror Callan.

Callan (from what I recall) was a good baby then suddenly started screaming at about 7 months old... he still has not stopped. That is how I found out about his hernia, his screaming. One day after a 2 hour bout of Callan's screaming I called the doctor and just said "HELP". They saw me, but the doctor (not my usual one) was quick to tell me that he could not even come into the room because of his screaming and that it was a discipline issue I needed to deal with. He told me to take him home put him in his bed and walk away.
It was a few days or a week later and I was still terribly upset that a doctor told me it was my fault that he was screaming. I went to change his diaper when I found his hernia. His entire boy parts were blue from where his intestines were in there. Callan had to have surgery #2 on his boy parts before 2 years of age.

Hopefully we will not have to go there!

Mom called and told me this was confusing... so let me clarify.
Callan had (and had surgery on) hypospadias and inguinal hernia. I think he had an umbilical hernia that corrected itself (based on what the Dr. said today and photos).
Cruz has umbilical hernia and hypospadias. I am going to have them check on an inguinal hernia because my mommy instinct tells me it may be related to the hypospadias.

Biggest Brother and Baby Brother

I love this photo. Of my biggest baby holding onto my tiny baby. How did I get so blessed and how did my biggest baby get so big so fast. It just seems like yesterday he was the baby, baby.

*** I also had to take Cruz back to the hospital today for a hearing screen. He failed the screening at one day old, but he passed it today just fine. Callan did the same thing. We are also having another issue that was just like Callan but I am going to wait and ask the Dr. about it. Who said I make cookie cutter children? He looks like Silas, has Callan's issues... we will see what else will emerge.

2 Weeks

Today Cruz is 2 weeks old. He is the best baby. He has yet to cry, only just a few whimpers when he is wet or hungry. However, in the past 2 days I have seen him "waking up" and wanting to be held a lot more. So, our days are numbered I am sure.

Don't you see that children are God's best gift?
The fruit of the womb his generous legacy?
Like a warrior's fistful of arrows
are the children of a vigorous youth.
Oh, how blessed are you parents,
with your quivers full of children!
Your enemies don't stand a chance against you;
you'll sweep them right off your doorstep.
