Callan's Field Trip

For Callan's field trip, we went to Cheekwood. The purpose was a garden tour. But seeing as it is fall... and most everything has... well, fallen. It was mostly a "pick up dead leaves and acorns" kind of trip. They did talk about different kinds of trees and herbs, but there was not much info learned. The highlight of the trip was that the Chihuly exhibit was mostly still there. They were taking down a lot of pieces while we were there, but every time we would come to one the kids would get so excited. It really is an amazing display of glass. (However, I have to admit that just thinking about the millions of dollars it cost just to ship the glass back and forth from where it came is a bit sickening)

When I grow up...

Silas has been studying Community Helpers at school. On Friday, they were asked to dress as what they would like to be when they grew up. Silas has decided he wants to be a police officer. Thank goodness Halloween costumes were on 50% off and I the perfect policeman.

The Letter Gg

I thought I would show you what we did with the letter Gg this week, since I never got it posted. This is not all we did, but a good idea.
Practicing our Gg writing
Cutting up our letter/sound cards
Putting our sound cards in our binder.
Practicing our G sound words (these letters were from when I taught Kinder). The pointer finger I found at Hobby Lobby makes it 100 times more fun!!!
We LOVE Starfall.com. I think she did it at least 4 times on the letter G.

Making a Gg out of playdough!

Thankful Thursday

I don't think I could have even dreamed this big. I could not have made this vision in my mind if I tried. I feel so thankful, so blessed, so in love with each of these precious gifts!

Halloween

Baylor the baseball player (5 year running)... it just is who he is. Callan the skeleton.

Silas as Anakin Skywalker

Eliza as SUPERgirl.

Cruz the cowpoke =)

The one shot all together...
We spent some time at church doing the Fall Festival thing and the bonfire thing. Then we went with the Lee's to meet the Ashman and Morgan families. Where we filled our bags with more candy than can be consumed in our lifetime. A special thanks to Mr. Bobby who ran with the kids because I am pretty sure if he had not been there, we would still be searching for our supergirl who ran like she never has before, and did not tire for one minute.

Do you see the look on her face below... she was BLOWN away at this laying in the floor.
They were each allowed to fill a sandwhich bag with their favorites. Then my plan is to take the other 35 pounds to our dentist

Silas- Fall Ball Ends

It was a great season for Silas. He played a lot of infield and (in his words) hit a lot of doubles.
