I love Easter Morning sleepyheads!
Sadly, my people are tired of posing for pictures for me and I only get the back of heads! Thankfully the little man will work it for me.
I have not done the church Easter Egg Hunt in ages. Mostly because the crowd is so huge, I cannot handle it. But, I felt guilty that my youngest had never experienced it. So we went… within the first 10 minutes before the hunt ever started I lost Cruz. As in had to call in the Security Team… lost him. Luckily he was found, just in time for Eliza to wander off with a friend and also become lost. I was a HOT MESS! We survived, but mom left with emotional trauma!

He was such a confident batter this season. It was probably his most successful yet!
Opening Day was a wash out this year and this 4 year old was not happy about it at all. Tuesday’s game night could not come soon enough!!! He was PUMPED! He got completely ready on his own, complete with eye black stickers. I could eat this kid up…
Much to my surprise he was the lead off batter. Look at that stance, this boy was ready!
He has eyes on it… he is zeroed in, just a little late on the swing.
He made it to first… and he did attempt a steal (until he was reminded that we don’t do that in 5/6 coach pitch).
First inning he was “back up short stop”. Totally into the game!
After his second at bat, where he rocked it off the coach, he ran the bases with a stop at 3rd. Where the kid tried to tell him that “Red Sox are the best”. To which Cruz said “we have a lot of runs, you don’t”The next inning, he played short stop. He went after the ball quite a bit… but so did a lot of other boys. They made some good plays!
Then they called him up to “pitch” (coaches pitch, they play the position)
While waiting for the batter to get placed we had to pretend we were really pitching to the batter.
Then we were focused in and ready!
I was truly amazed how focused and ready to play he was. I was not sure if this 4 year old was ready to play up with kids who will be turning 7 about the time he turns 5. He is something else, I tell you! I guess you have no choice but to love and and know what to do when you have spent endless hours at the ball field since birth (in fact, momma first went into labor yelling and jumping at the ball field). If he always loves it as much as he does now, there is no telling where it will take him!
