My college sorority was holding a celebration of it's 50th year on UTM's campus. When we heard it was coming the e-mails started flying out from the girls I shared so much with in my college years. It is hard to belive that I graduated from college almost 14 years ago, especially when I walked into the room with these girls in it. I do not get to spend much time with any of them, but just 5 minutes alone took us all right back to the comfortable page of friendships that stand the test of time, distance, and life. It is amazing to see what these women have become, and I am so thankful for the friendships that were created those 4 years that seem just like yesterday! My only wish was that I had taken more pictures so I could share more of the stories and faces of some of my lifetime friends.
Marcy, Chris and I lived together all of our college years. Our freshman year in the dorm down the hall from each other (always hanging out in rooms together). Our sophomore year in a Co-ed dorm where 8 of us shared a living room and bathroom. 4K (our room)was a crazy place where getting a complete sentence in was a miracle... and to be "the different egg". The rest of our years the 3 of us spent on Oakland Street in an apartment. I still wonder sometimes how Marcy got the biggest room with the biggest closet. If those walls could talk!! I will cherish those days all of my life.
The pledge class of 1993 (of those who were there and could be rounded up). 6 of the 8 of us 4Kers are pictured here. (Dawn you should have gotten in the picture) So many memories, so much fun... and reliving it if only for the weekend made my soul smile.

The boys
We spent one of our Spring Break days at Nannie's house visiting. The boys (and Eliza) always have fun riding and driving the golf cart, digging through the rocks and running around outside. I got a few shots of the kiddos hanging out on her awesome porch.

Our girl
We snuck in a little Eliza time on the way to Atlanta for Baylor to play in his baseball tournament. I have always wanted to go here, and may have used it as an excuse. Eliza did love it and picked out which one she loved the most. I would say she recognizes her heritage when she sees it.(Eliza is offically a Mayan Indian). I forsee that this doll will have a place in our home in the near future.
The big brother with us might have rolled his eyes a little, but an hour in the store vs. the 8+ we spent on the baseball field was the trade off.

Circus Act
Eliza's Creative Movmement Ballet class is putting on a recital with all the other Creative Movement classes. Her class is taking on the role of Lion. Each class is a part of the circus. It is going to be too cute for words. Here is my little lioness. Have I mentioned that I have waited all my life for this???

SIX
Second verse... same as the first...
It was Silas' turn for a birthday and he too just wanted some time with his best buddies. So sleepover is what we attempted to have. I think for this crew "party till you drop" more fits the bill.
They had a blast and were higly entertaining during the DJ Dance Party portion of the evening by none other than DJ Biggity Bay.
These 3 are true friends!
We had some good ol' cookies for dessert because we were all cupcaked out after Callan's birthday and taking them to school that very day for his class.

Walking tour of Nashville
I went with Baylor on the coolest class field trip. We started out at Fort Nashboro and walked to the capitol. It wasn't just the sights and sounds that were cool for 200 10 year olds, but the stories. This tour came with a guide who shared stories as if she had lived them over and over again. She told some of the history of the buildings and of the people they had been studying (Sam Davis, Andrew Jackson, James Polk, and Andrew Johnson). Her stories came alive and she shared like she knew them personally. It was like listening to the Paul Harvey of History. We topped it off with lunch at the Bicentennial Mall. Such a fun day!
