South Care-da-line-da

Chosen Children Ministries was holding it’s first annual Missions Banquet in South Carolina. Because most of the Nicaraguan staff we coming in, Brent HAD to be there. So thanks to some friends who allowed us a place to stay, we loaded up for a long weekend in the beautiful mountains of South Carolina. We arrived late Thursday night but did not have plans until dinner on Friday so went spent some time exploring on Friday morning.

At the banquet Callan stood in front of a life size version of a typical Nicaraguan home.callan- house

Before we left we spent a little time at the playground near the house we stayed in. The kids had no idea that I was taking pictures of them playing. Each one of them stopped to ride this. I guess it is the simple things, and I am sure I could embarrass at least 2 of these with the photos. It was good to spend time together as a family, enjoying each other, long drives in the car and the relaxation.

The trip home was also an adventure. I think we were in 4 states (accidentally) and happened to end up on TOP of a mountain and right smack dab in the middle of Oktober Fest in Helen, GA.

Preparing to GO!

My 3 handsome biggest boys are getting ready to go to Nicaragua in December. I took a photo for their prayer cards and it was so good I had to add it here for keeps.DSC_7357

Baseball Siblings

It is very hard to be the little people in a baseball family! After a long weekend at the ball field, they CRASH!

HOMERUN!

I had to document Baylor’s first ever travel ball, over the fence, homerun ball. It was a long time coming and he was patient and PROUD!!! I was the mom screaming in the car, waking up Cruz who was sleeping on the road, and watching in slow motion as it traveled over the fence!003004

Coyotes Football

I am really not sure what we have gotten ourselves into with letting Callan try some football. He needed a break from baseball and as it turns out, football is pretty good for him. He LOVES it. I am not in love with the 4 practices a week and the 2 hours required to arrive prior to the game, but we do what we have to.

This is Callan’s first time to put on the official practice gear…

From Phone 045

They did not fare so well in their first two Jamborees (that Callan missed because of our planned vacation) but they did win their first official home game against the Hendersonville Titans. All the other games have not gone as well. But to say that we learned a lot is an understatement, and I am fairly certain that Callan will be anxious for football again come next fall.

Here Callan is playing Center. This ended up being his starting position most games.DSC_7351

Let It Shine

Eliza picked to have a gymnastics party for her birthday. She had a blast (except for the jumpy thing that pulled her in the air). I had a camera that was not working. Thank goodness for the iPhone!!! I did not get to capture everyone, but glad I got a few so she will have proof that her party was there. =)
