OH Brother!

For the first time (of many times I am sure) the 3 oldest boys are playing a sport at the same time. Today was the first day where we all suited up to play. Callan at 11AM, Silas at 1PM and Baylor at 5PM (in Mt. Juliet). It ended up working out perfectly this time so that we could all make it to each child's game. All three boys came out with a win, and Baylor's team won the entire tournament this weekend.

I have enjoyed baseball for quite a while now, I love to watch my boys play. I struggle with my expectations being a little high for a 5 year old and a 7 year old. When your oldest child set the bar for ability and passion, it is hard not to expect the same out of the others. Callan loves to play, he is just not as intense as his oldest brother. He wants to do good, he tries very hard... but he does not LIVE it like Bay does. To Silas it is still all fresh and new. He played Lollipop last year and LOVED it, but I think it may have done more harm than good on the fundamentals of baseball. He is still in the mode that everyone gets to hit and run around the bases. However, that is not how it is being played. There are only so many pitches, there are outs, and tags, and running as hard as you can. He still has a lot to learn and his personality falls just between what Baylor and Callan's does. So, we will see how it all plays out in the years to come.

So if I see you at the ball field (because that is where I am logging a majority of my time these days) and I don't know if I am coming or going, just pat me on the back and smile. These days... they only last for a little while and I am doing my best to soak up every minute of it!

FUN!

Yes, they pester the fool out of each other daily. But they also LOVE when they actually get to spend time together. The boys did have some fun on Spring Break with the older 2 going fishing in Big Sandy with Gran and Papa and Silas and Eliza hitting Nommie and Gandie's house for a sleepover and movie day, but the end of the week was spent just hanging out and enjoying spending time together.

These two have vivid imaginations. They can spend hours pretending they are somone or something. They rarely fight about it while in full play mode, but don't send someone else in the mix to play and mess up their plan because then CHAOS breaks out and someone (Eliza) likely leaves crying that they do not get to play along.

FINALLY

It has been almost a year since this little man lost a tooth. The last time one fell out was right after eating too much Easter candy. We have tried several times to wiggle it loose, but it has been content with just being loose for several months now. Luckily we have brothers that "accidentally" run into our mouths on occasion and knock the already loose teeth more loose. He was upset for only a few seconds as Silas who ran into him with a DVD case and went from a fit about his mouth being hit to hysterical laughter that his tooth was about knocked out. The other top tooth is soon to follow, then I don't know how the boy will eat!

Sunday Best

Only 3 of us ventured out to church Sunday morning. Baylor and Silas had Strep and Daddy agreed to stay home with them and just to hang out with Cruz as well.

Thank you Nommie for Eliza's perfect dress! And thank you sunshine for Mommy's farmers burn so that she could not wear her new Easter Dress.

Easter Bunny

I now remember why I had put in a special request to the Easter Bunny the past few years to swing by on Saturday evening. Although I love the sleepy eyes and the bed head look, trying to fit in enjoying the treats that the Easter Bunny brings is hard to fit in with getting dressed for 8:30 Sunday School (even when 3 out of 5 kids opted out due to a nice Spring Break treat of Strep)
Cruz smiles because he loves too, he has no clue there is a basket of treats beside him.

Eliza loved that the "Habbit" came to see her and brought her a few treats. I love that my princess is wearing a hand me down t-shirt backwards so that she can see the picture on it and play shorts from Silas that she thinks are SUPER COOL (especially that she gets to wear her brothers shorts). She sleeps in them every night. Who needs princess gowns when you have hand me down comfy shorts.

Silas gets the bed head award and the prize for the most THANK YOU'S. That boy loves his Imaginext stuff. So sweet!

There were better pictures of the big boys but Callan is in his skivvies and I am sure that someday will not appreciate this being out for the world to see. Have you all seen the Gogo's. HAVE MERCY these things have taken over our house like Silly B@ndz. Come on mom friends we can come up with some useless piece of junk and make ga-zillions on! We just have to make 3rd graders think it is the happening thing.

I don't why the "Habbit" brings things to the foyer. But it works. Now to only answer the question- What exactly is the Easter Bunny and how does he get here and bring stuff?

Playdate

Thank you Mrs. Kelly for including Eliza in your fun day. We had a blast at "Lala's" house and she keeps bringing it up at random odd times, with sass and flare, and her hands on her hips. As if to mock her brothers that she got to do something fun and on her own. I got a few pics, but egg hunts always produce photos of the tops and backs of heads. So here are the fun ones!

Before Endsley took a tumble and before Caroline appeared... and I love how not ONE SINGLE KID is looking in my direction.

On the dance floor!

Favorite Foto Friday- Spring Repeat

This is Baylor not liking the feel of grass AT ALL circa Easter 2001(at about 8 months old).

And this is his baby brother who did not like his first romp in the grass either. (Note: see what I say when I say that this boy is "little" look what came first, above. Those knees-or lack there of- just make me happy)

Much like sister who did this in 2007.
