Tot School
I know I have not posted much about what we have been doing for Tot School. Something has happened with my blogger mojo. It takes so long to post photos anymore that I just have put it on the back burner. Here Eliza is totally rocking her matching skills with her upper and lowercase alphabet (and TOTALLY rockin' the side ponytail).

Silas
Silas-
This letter is for you.
Today, I attended your awards assembly. You received the award for Most Improved in your class, and I am so proud.
It has only taken half of the school year, but I think we are finally in the groove of Kindergarten. I knew school would be tough on you, my little momma's boy. But, I had no idea it would be a STRUGGLE. You have been sick a lot, and missed a lot of days which has not helped. All your buddies are in another class which makes you a little lonely, and I know you are just like your momma and shy away from jumping in there with new friends. You are quiet, and you like your life just the way it is, who needs to learn how to read and write anyway... right? =)
It has taken everything in me not to yank you out of school and give a go with it at home. I want to, but I am not sure it is best for you (and I hope I am making the right decision). You have cried and begged me not to send you. You just keep telling me "it is so long". But I send you anyway and then cry and pray that I am doing the right thing.
BUT TODAY... I watched you walk across the gym full of parents, teachers, and all the K-2 kiddos and accept your award with pride. You have worked so hard, you have pushed through and you have overcome your fears and frustrations. You are reading, your favorite thing at school is "writers workshop", and you are making new friends. You have decided that school is not that bad and you run out the door in the morning and return with a smile on your face in the afternoon. You are excited about what you are learning and you enjoy challenging yourself. I am learning so much with you little guy, because Mommy really understands your heart. I love you and I am so proud!

SNOW much fun
I don't know if it is the kid in me or the teacher in me, but I love a good snow day and we saw this one coming. We made our plans before the first flake fell and were just waiting to see what would happen.
I am so thankful that we live just down the road from our good friends that do not mind for us all to show up on snow days and just hang out ALL DAY LONG (and by that I mean shortly after breakfast THROUGH dinner).
I have to admit that I had my camera out for a brief 5 minutes. So, I only caught the kiddos who had yet to run away too far (that would be my kiddos because we had just gotten there)

This is the "Mom, I came to play, leave me alone" face from Callan.
This is the "I may look all sweet and innocent , but my dad has taught me some snowball skills" face.
... and this is Mr. Grizzly Adams himself. =)
There were other fun friends there, I just put my camera up not long after Baylor hit it with a snowball. Someday, I will catch them all... or just let Sonja.

2010- The End
We spent the last day of 2010 hanging with our precious famiy, getting dressed up for date night with good friends, dancing to Beyonce, eating good food, laughing, watching a movie, thanking God for family, and drifting to sleep listening to His creation rumble with thunder and howl with wind at His command. Welcome 2011, we are ready to see what adventures you bring.

Christmas with Nanny
It is well over a month past Christmas when I am finally getting these posts up (am I the only one who has trouble getting pictures to load on Blogger anymore?). Christmas at Nanny's is a tradition (just like Christmas at Muber and Pa's)... it is like it would not really be Christmas if it did not happen. I am so thankful that I get to spend time with my family. That I have been allowed to know my grandparents well into my adulthood and that I can appreciate where I came from.
Here is Nanny with almost all the great-grandkids.
